«Dialog of cultures» – non-profit-making project, which has its traditions and audience. The main idea of «The Dialog» is to create a free space for a discussion about important issues. Besides, we combine cultural and educational activities and aim at close cooperation between participants from different countries and audience. «The Dialog» is considered to be a festival and doesn’t imply competition.

The contest will highlight positive examples of civil society in action and is open to residents of the 56 OSCE states, ages 18-30. Winners will receive a trip to Vienna for the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall at the OSCE on 5-6 November.

02.05.2009 Italian experience of civil resistance to crime will be presented in Moscow

On May 4 at 1 p.m. the press-conference of the Network "Freedom, Legality and Rights in Europe – FLARE” is to take place in the Independent Press Centre. Among the participants – Michele Curto, the president of the Network, Luigi Ciotti, one of the most famous mafia fighters and founder of the LIBERA association. The press-conference will be conducted in the framework of the all-European campaign “Season of Legality”, which is supported in Russia by the International Network – Youth Human Rights Movement.

17.04.2009 - 19.04.2009 BarCamp Central Asia 2009 took place in the southern capital of Kazakhstan

BarCamp Central Asia 2009 is an open educational non-commercial conference for specialists in New Media.

BarCamp assumes a free format, and presentations are announced by the participants.

More than 350 journalists, programmers, designers, media makers, web developers and people connected with the Internet and the New Media gathered in a new building of KIMEP (Kazakhstan Institute of Management, Economics and Prognosis). YHRM participants Sergey Sabanov, Tatiana Serpukhova and Dmitry Makarov, also took part in the BarCamp.

UDHR Video Competition Closing in Three Weeks

In commemoration of the 60th anniversary of UDHR and to open a dialogue with youth on human rights, Young Women's Learning Partnership (yWLP) announced a YouTube contest seeking videos on "What Does Human Rights Mean to You?"

The video competition closes on Feb 28, 2009.

12.02.2009 People to People International Scholarships: The Fund for American Studies

PTPI invites qualified applicants of TFAS to apply for PTPI scholarships. The scholarships are $500.00 each and up to four (4) will be selected annually. Each award will be sent to the scholarship winner. Acceptance to TFAS Program will be confirmed before any funds are approved.

11.02.2009 International Leadership Forum Announcement - Call for Applications

The UNESCO Chair & Institute of Comparative Human Rights at the University of Connecticut invites applications for the fifth annual International Leadership Programme: A Global Intergenerational Forum, to be held August 1 - 9, 2009 in Storrs, Connecticut.

Applications must be received by February 27.

The Forum seeks to empower young leaders by involving them in finding solutions to emerging human rights problems, and nurturing individuals to be effective leaders in the field of human rights.
